It’s a shark eat shark world out there. Come take a bite! 

Why watch shark week on TV when you can live it?

Spend a week learning all about one of the ocean’s apex predators. Shark Fest participants may encounter Atlantic sharp nose, bonnethead, blacktip, spinner, hammerhead and bull sharks. Board vessels to long line for sharks and participate in shark research with our USM scientists by catching, tagging and releasing sharks.

Sharkheads Shark Fest sessions are held on Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Currently scheduled sessions are listed below. We can also create a special session for your group.

Sharkheads is a must-see destination on the Biloxi beach. The 32-foot tall, iconic great white shark welcomes visitors young and old to Biloxi, inviting them to stop for a "photo op" to send to family and friends.

The Pierotich family has operated the largest gift shop on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for more than forty years. Visitors to the Coast can find souvenirs, beach brands and clothing, gifts and homemade fudge in their sprawling gift shop. Sharkheads airbrush artists are available to customize your visit to the coast on anything from a t-shirt to a baseball helmet.

The long-time relationship between Sharkheads and the Marine Education Center started at Point Cadet in Biloxi long before Hurricane Katrina, and by sponsoring Shark Fest, the Pierotich family continues to support marine education at the new MEC. Sharkheads Shark Fest brings students and their families from over sixteen states here for a week to attend this unique educational opportunity.
Sharkheads staff takes their role as Coast ambassadors seriously and help make your school's visit fun and unique then top it with a generous scoop of southern hospitality.


Marine Education Center field trip groups and families receive a 10% discount on their purchases. Make room for free samples of delicious homemade fudge. It will be hard to choose from all the delicious flavors like Cookies & Cream and Red Velvet, Butterfinger, Chocolate Swirl and Chewy Praline to name a few.
