Miss Peetsy B.
The GCRL Marine Education Center offers bayou tours aboard the motor vessel Miss Peetsy B as a field trip for school and community groups. The program consists of two 90-minute periods of instruction, one on the water and the other in the classroom.
Coastal Sciences Camps
The GCRL Marine Education Center will arrange a learning experience for any group, from 4th grade to adult, who want a hands-on experience on the beach, in a boat, in the lab, or all three.
Deer Island Discovery
Visit one of twenty Mississippi coastal preserves. During this 4 hour experience participants tour Deer Island and gain insight into the cultural and archaeological history of Mississippi's closest island. The island is home to a diverse bird population including shore birds, marsh birds and migrating species traveling the Mississippi Flyway. Learn about coastal ornithology and the role that citizen-science plays in scientific discovery. More Information
